How ChartGuru's Trending Feature Works
Crypto search attention vs stock most-active volume—what Trending shows, what it doesn't, and how it differs from Gem Finder.
Trending, on most platforms, means one thing: something is getting unusual attention. That's true here too — but the useful question is what kind of attention, and what happens after the flag. ChartGuru Trending is built as a discovery board, not a blended social-plus-volume score.
What Trending actually ranks
| Market | Ranking basis | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Crypto | Search attention (CoinGecko search trending) | Attention leaders enriched with price, 24h change, market cap, and volume |
| Stocks | Most actively traded volume | US stocks ranked by trading activity — not top % movers |
The product subtitle says it plainly: search and attention leaders — not the same as top % movers or Gem scores.
What gets shown on the board
Each row is a ranked asset with market context (price, change, volume where available). From there you can open technical analysis for structure and levels, or Gem Finder for multi-factor data-support ranking.
Trending does not show:
- Separate social-volume vs trading-volume triggers
- A "which signal fired" badge
- Automatic range-extension or volume-trajectory labels
Those checks still belong in your research workflow (and in chart analysis) after a name appears.
Stocks and crypto on one board
Same product, different inputs: crypto search heat vs stock most-active volume. That matches how attention shows up in each market without pretending one blended model covers both.
What Trending won't tell you
It won't tell you an asset is a buy. It won't tell you the trend will continue. A trending rank is a statement about current attention relative to peers — not a prediction, and not advice. Whether a specific name is worth acting on still depends on structure, liquidity, and your own risk assessment.
Why the distinction from Gem Finder matters
Trending and Gem Finder solve different problems:
- Trending — what's getting unusual attention right now (search or most-active volume)
- Gem Finder — multi-factor data-support ranking with confidence and risk, whether or not the name is currently hot
A stock or coin can show up in one, both, or neither — they're not the same list with two different names. Open Gems from Trending when you want that next research layer.
